Organized by the SIRIUS Chair, the conference aims at discussing recent, original and unpublished contributions to the understanding of current space business issues and their consequences for modern economies and societies.
This year's theme is Unlocking the Planet: The Promise of Space-based Data.Harnessing space data-driven innovation and industrial competitivity for societal resilience, security, and sustainability
We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Legal and Regulatory Issues: Governance of satellite and geospatial data infrastructures; Data ownership, access rights, and licensing regimes; International space law and national regulatory frameworks; Regulation of orbital infrastructures and satellite constellations; Privacy, security, and ethical issues with large-scale space-data infrastructures; Liability, compliance, and oversight mechanisms for operators and data providers
- Economic and Market Perspectives: The emerging space-data economy and its infrastructure requirements; Valuation and monetization of data produced by satellite systems; Market structures for geospatial information and associated services; Economic incentives for developing and maintaining space-data infrastructures; Interoperability, standardization, and the economics of data-sharing networks; Public investment, externalities, and long-term economic sustainability
- Infrastructures for Space-Derived Data: Architecture and governance of space-to-Earth data infrastructures; Satellite constellations, ground segments, and orbital resource management; Cloud-based processing platforms, data centers, and digital infrastructure; Interoperability frameworks and data pipelines from sensing to application; Infrastructure security, resilience, and dependencies; Emerging technologies (edge AI in orbit, optical communications, mega-constellations) and their legal/economic implications
- Business Models and Industry Innovation: Commercialization of space-derived data and value-creation strategies; Vertical and horizontal integration in the space-data industry; Venture capital, new entrants, and the rise of data-centric space startups; Public–private partnerships and infrastructure-sharing models; Sectoral applications: agriculture, insurance, climate services, transport, energy, real estate, finance, etc.
Interdisciplinary, comparative, and policy-oriented contributions are highly encouraged.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract length: 300–500 words
- Language: English
- Submission deadline: June 12th, 2026
- Notification of acceptance: July 10th, 2026
- Format: Please submit your proposal as a PDF file including title, author(s), affiliation(s), and contact information.
- Slot: Every speaker will have a slot of 20 minutes to present his paper.
Full papers are not required, but may be submitted voluntarily for inclusion in conference proceedings or thematic panels.
